Hi folks,

I' am asking this on behalf of a dutch valve radio site member.
It's about a transmitter type TR 87. I guess it's british RAF maybe Admiralty
MOD- equipment. All technical information is welcomed. To what part it belonged, frequencies, power supply etc how to operate etc.....

See pics and cirquit.

best regards and thanks for taking the time.

Interesting!

It's RAF, not Admiralty, from the 10R/85 stores code on the unit.

Battery powered from 90V HT and 1.5 V LT.

Crystal controlled AM transmitter on 10.0583 MHz (or a harmonic of that).

Obviously built in vast quantities, with a serial number in the 28,000s so
probably some kind of expendable beacon.

Looks too heavy to be balloon carried, so possibly sonobuoy?

Chris
